Cutting Edge Interactive Design

Moey is where the digital universe and the physical world merge. A team of technologists, designers, engineers, artists, educators and fabricators creates unforgettable interactive experiences, installations and applications.

I was the go-to for fleshing out design prototypes and creation of digital assets for a very wide variety of media and platforms. Large format touchscreens, 3D Unity Games, IR sensor surfaces, touchable objects, projection on spheres, buildings, mist... you name it, we built it.

Science Museum of Western Virginia (Interactive Sculpture)

Our team wired this 7-foot model into a lesson station on oral anatomy and hygiene. Fabricators outfitted the mouth with 39 touch sensors and channeled AV output to a custom screen in the back of the throat. Now when visitors touch any point, the anatomy is identified, and its special features are explained in an interactive game I shared a sizable role in designing.

I contributed to ideation, UX design, 3D structure prototypes, and created digital assets.

Johnstown Area Heritage Association (Interactive Exhibit)

We created several exhibits that captivate young visitors and teach lessons on the rich history of this town's industrial and cultural heritage.

This virtual steel mill shows children what work was like in Johnstown's once-formidable industry. When children pass a variety of molds down a conveyor belt, RFID tags call up a corresponding video to show a similar mold being filled with molten steel and cog produced.

I contributed to ideation, 3D structure prototypes, and created all digital assets.

National Guard Energy Lab (Touch Table Interactives)

Produced by RedPeg with tech by Moey. Four sections teach lessons on energy use and deliver an important conservation message through custom interactives. Built for high school students, the Energy Lab travels the country by truck. We designed and produced all media, software, hardware, animation, graphics, fabrication, audio, user testing, and installation.

I contributed to ideation, UX design, wires, and created the majority of digital assets.

Museum of Math (Interactive Sculpture)

Math Square is an interactive installation, a series of math games users play by stepping across the floor. The playful interface introduces complex concepts such as fractals, mazes and the Voronoi algorhytm in an engaging manner. We designed Math Square in collaboration with the team at MoMath.

I contributed to ideation, UX design, and created all digital assets.

Children's Museum of Houston (Interactive exhibits)

Kidtropolis is an award winning space, a 6,000 square foot interactive space allowing kids to experience "grownup" life in a miniature city. The Moey-developed banking system gives each child an "ATM card" upon entering. They earn and spend money at different jobs and stores. The debits and credits are calculated throughout the child's experience, and "money" is accessible from Moey-designed ATMs. 42 networked computers run Kidtropolis, which both the museum and Moey are able to modify and control.

I contributed to ideation, UX design, wires, and the majority of digital assets.

Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum (Interactive Exhibit)

We created several exhibits for the Exploreum Hall, the interactive center of the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum. Visitors learn about Intrepid's travels around the world, play Space Pinball, shoot a rocket, learn the fundamentals of buoyancy, and more through Moey's innovative interactives.

I contributed to ideation, UX design, and created the majority of digital assets.

Panasonic (Interactive projection)

Panasonic called on us to help build the interactive for two fanciful installations to tour and promote their super-charged Oxyride batteries.

We built an interactive area that allowed participants to control the actions and music of four Oxyride characters. As participants move around the installation, characters mimick their movements on a large screen as its music become more amplified.

I contributed to ideation, UX design, and created all digital assets.

Panasonic (Interactive Experience)

Up to four players competed to blow-up one of the four Oxyride characters' heads. We built the physical interactive: over-sized Oxyride batteries with touch-sensitive tops, as well as the on-screen animations, which showed the character's craniums ballooning with each participant's tap on the Oxyride battery.

I contributed to ideation, UX design, and created all digital assets.
